Wednesday June 6th

We had a wonderful day of learning in Grade 3 today!!! Here are some pictures from the events of the day.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers. Without you, we couldn't have these educational programs visit our classrooms. Thank you to our parent volunteers; Mrs. Shirley, Mrs. Cindy, Mrs. Sharlee and our other special classroom volunteer Mrs. Linda and Mrs. Penny.

Here are some pictures from Scientist in Schools - Structures-Stable and Strong
The students gained knowledge of structural strength and stability as junior engineers. We investigated forces and their impact on structures. We discover that the strength of a given material can be altered by its shape. We also applied these concepts to design and build a stable bridge.

Here are some pictures from Teacher's Pet - Tunisia. We will look at artifacts directly from Tunisia and we learn traditional games like Mancala. Students discussed Tunisian goods and services as they spent some Tunisian Dinars. We discovered facts about daily life, geography, imports and exports and so much more. We also created a mosaic to take home.

YESTERDAY - We had the final draw for the weaving for water pillows. Japneet in our class won one! There were only 7 pillows made because it takes about 12-15 weaving boards to make one pillow. As a school we raised $1400 for Ryan's Well. Way to go PHS
