Monday April 16th 2019

Highlights:

We started our morning with silent reading and math. We started lesson 12 of this unit. Today's lesson focused on exploring mass in grams. We will finish this lesson tomorrow. There will be a test on the measurement unit on Wednesday. The student's had music and gym. The classes are learning about volleyball in gym. They've been practicing how to properly hit and pass a volleyball. After gym, we had spelling and writing. In writing, we're continuing our unit on poetry. Today's focus was on writing pyramid poems.

After lunch, we started a special project that all the grade 3 classes will be working on. Mr. Dalderies class came to our classroom and taught us how to weave. Weaving is an essential part of the Peruvian and Indian culture and we will be turning our weaving into pillows. More information to come on this project, stay tuned!

At the end of the day, we had Social Studies. We spent a lot of time last week learning about the different regions of Peru. Today we recorded the information about the dessert, the mountains and the amazon. We will be using this information for an upcoming project on Peru.
