Monday October 2nd 2017

Highlights:
What a crazy way to start October. The students had indoor recess today. Normally, student's do not stay inside unless it is -20'c (with the wind chill) but because many student's didn't come dressed for the weather and also because it is extremely windy outside, the student's stayed inside. 

We started our day with math. We used a calculator to create an increasing number pattern and then we reproduced that pattern onto a 100's chart. The students worked with a partner and tried to see if their partners could find the missing number to their pattern. We had music and gym this morning. After gym, we had Daily 5. We're continuing to train and build stamina. The student's had 5 new spelling words today. After lunch we worked on a special art project with our grade 2 buddies. We're designing our own shield out of clay. It was messy but so much fun!

~ Math: Pattern Test Review - We will be sending a review package home tomorrow (Friday). We have included the answer sheet for your information as you work through the problems with your child. 

• The math test will be next Wednesday, Oct. 4th. 

~ Reading: Read daily for 15-20 minutes.
