Highlights
All week we've been working on subject/predicate for morning challenge. The students have been doing quite well with writing complete sentences based on a picture prompt with some sentence starters.

In Writing, we've been working on sentence fragments. All of the work we've been doing with subject/predicate is helping the students to form a proper sentence and recognize when a sentence isn't complete.

We've been busy working with the students during Guided Reading. The students have been working on understanding the difference between narrative and expository texts, making connections to their books and answering comprehension questions about what they read (checking for understanding).

We were working on bar graphs in Math this week. The students were asked to read and interpret bar graphs and will begin drawing bar graphs next week.

We had our spelling test today. They will be marked and sent home on Monday. We are taking a break from spelling until January so there will be no spelling homework or quizzes until then.

We've just started a new unit in Science: Hearing and Sound. Today the students were introduced to the big idea of 'What is Sound?".

We finished the day by reading from our class novel: The BFG by Roald Dahl.
