Monday April 9th 2018

Highlights:
I'm posting this Monday morning because all of the computers in the school are being re-imaged today and tomorrow. If you need to get a hold of us, please call us at school or email us and we'll email you back from our home computers.

This morning we will complete lesson 8 for math. This lessons focus in on measuring perimeter in centimeters. Homework will be sent home today. The students have music and gym. After gym, we have spelling and writing. Today's writing will focus on poetry and writing cinquain (sin-kain) poem. A cinquain poem is a verse of 5 lines one one topic and does not rhyme. Each line has a specific number of words or syllables.

We continued poetry after lunch. We also had 20 minutes of quite reading time. Our class loves to read and its wonderful to see them enjoy reading.

We have social studies at the end of the day. We're continuing to learn about Peru. We have been learning about Peru's national symbols, it's flag and the countries that surround it. Today, we will be learning about its geographical regions (dessert, mountains and the rainforest).

Reminders:
  • Our class Field Trip to the Bow Habitat is on Thursday, April 12th. Thank you to all the parents who offered to volunteer. We are missing a few student's permission forms. Please send them back asap.
  • Book Orders due - April 25th

Important Information:

Please dress your children accordingly for the weather this week.  The temperature is forecasted to rise significantly and we are expecting our school grounds to be wet and slushy.  Rubber boots, splash pants and a change of clothing in the backpacks would be greatly appreciated.
