Welcome back! BLUE Field Trip paperwork was sent home today. Please read through it and sign and return the forms by this Friday, April 6th, 2018.
This morning we learned about measuring length, width and height with metre sticks. The students learned that a baseball bat is a good referent to use when estimating metres. This work will continue tomorrow.
The students were given a new list of spelling words. Please practice the list at home. There will be a quiz on Friday this week. We also began learning about the loop cursive letters: l, b, f, e, h, k.
We are focusing on poetry for writing this month. We began with simple couplet poems today and tomorrow they will write their own two-line couplet poem.
The students read an article about koalas and answered comprehension questions related to the text. These were marked but will be sent home tomorrow. Please go through them with your child and remind them to take their time and answer completely and thoroughly to ensure they understand what they're reading.
We discussed the upcoming science project due next week. There is more information in their green folders. The students are being asked to make a musical instrument out of recycled materials from home and bring it back to school to play and present to their classmates.
We journaled about spring break and finished the day using the computer website: www.typingclub.com.
