There is no school Thursday February 15th and Friday February 16th due to Teacher's Convention. There is also no school on Monday February 19th due to Family Day. We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful log weekend.
Highlights:
The student's have been busy working this week.
During our math lesson today, the students asked for some extra practice
sheets. They're working on subtracting 2-digit numbers with regrouping. Please
review this concept with them while they're working on the practice sheet. I've
asked them to return it next week. We will continue to practice this concept
throughout grade 3.
We're really enjoying learning about the Olympics
and the athletes participating in the Olympics. Today, we started a writing
piece about the sport we've been learning about. It's wonderful to see how
excited the students are about their particular sport. We also finished our
quick draw of Soohorang. He is one of the mascots of these Olympics. We also
started an art activity today where we used abstract paper and geometric shapes
to create Olympic athletes. We made a cross-country skier today. See the
examples below.
💖 We also celebrated Valentine's Day. Thank you for the wonderful cards
and chocolates. It was wonderful to see how much time and care the students put
into making their Valentine’s for their classmates.
